Pranayama is a great way to sit down and get some deep relaxation with just a little bit of help. This app has a number of breathing exercises that when combined with soothing sounds promote good breathing and health in a natural way. The app also keeps track of how long is spent in each exercise to track progress. One of the cooler features on Pranayama is a nice animation that shows the correct way to breathe, including an optional transparency to see how the organs should be working inside the body.

Plus, there are distinct musical tones for each breathing stage (inhalation, retention, exhalation) so you can follow along intuitively without needing to look at the screen.

I bought this based on the rave reviews. Sorry, I just don't see what's so great. Cute animation and all, but the three music choices are distractingly bad. How I wish iTunes issued iRefunds. $4.99 is a little steep.
