Best Content, Worst Interface - 1 star - October 16, 2009
 3.1 update: Takes a very long time to be reponsive after initial launch. Hangs while scrolling (loading images?). It's so bad compared to many other news apps that I find I no longer have a reason to launch AP Mobile  what a shame. It seemed so promising. ----- Original 3.0 Review ----- The old interface was clean and simple. It gave you easy access to many stories. It even let you customize the button bar for only for those categories you cared about most. All it really needed to do was update the list of stories faster. The new interface is more about clutter than easy access to content. - The "Front Page" defaults to too few stories per category and has so many dividers and AP logos (one per headline) that scrolling becomes a joke if you bump the number of stories to the pitifully small max of 5. - Worse is that you can no longer customize the button bar. You're stuck with things like "Front Page" and weather. I want world and US news. I can get a trivial weather update anywhere (it doesn't need high priority on a button bar) and "Front Page" seems like an out-of-date concept (newspapers are dying). On the plus side, I do like the new category names. Sadly, I'm not really checking them out much due to the interface design.  ---

The pictures and the videos are of excellent quality and are well spaced to accommodate the text messages. Navigation is also proper. The banner ads are the only concern.

This is one of the most elegantly designed apps and also it provides a very good coverage of both local and international news. The push notification feature is marvelous which keeps me informed about the latest happenings. Great job done AP.

I love this app and I have got used to it. With this now I can customize my news.
