The 1Password securely stores important and sensitive information on the user's iPhone or iPod Touch. It has been rated best in it's category because it's password storage system is unique, and it includes some very useful features that are not available from other security apps. One feature that is especially useful is the login feature that sends the user directly to the login screens of specific websites, and inputs the username and password automatically. This app is also able to sync with any mac using the 1password program and do similar things on that desktop.

Big disappointment - 3 stars - October 25, 2009
I keep hearing about the "two layers of protection", but once I had created these two passcodes (and spent months laboriously filling the app with passwords that I had lost and reset), I NEVER had to use the master password again, only the four digit passcode. NOT ONCE did I have to utilize the master- until I downloaded the latest update and was blindsided with a screen requesting it. Too bad for me it had been so long since I'd created the master password that I couldn't remember it and couldn't find a written record of it. And I have absolutely no recourse to retrieve it. But beyond that, I have to question how secure a FOUR digit numeric passcode can really be? And why was the master password not made part of the sign-in process?

Bad business practives - 1 star - October 23, 2009
I purchased the full suite for the Mac for $35. After the snow leopard came out, the software didn’t work, they offered a beta that did. The bata expired, and they wanted another $20 to upgrade! Basically they give you a choice of loosing hundreds of entries, or paying the ransom, AFTER you already purchased the full version of the software. I am not aware of ANY company engaged with such blatant extorsion.
