PowerME HD

PowerME HD includes both an iPhone and iPad build in one. So if you have both or are planning on having both soon, it is worth paying a little extra to get this dual build.

PowerME has provided me with a way to keep a task list, organize those tasks, and augment my "need-to-dos" with documents, photos, notes, and even audio files. There is a yearly fee for their syncing and backup service, but it is crazy cheap at $40 and has been invaluable as I've incorporated my life into PowerME. If you haven't tried this one out yet, go to their website to try their free trial.

A note for you business users out there... PowerME has also proven itself to be a great business tool. Using this app I am able to share virtually anything from a task to a document to an entire project! It can definitely double as a simplified project management tool.

Their support team was very helpful and assisted me in getting to know the program and using it to organize my life. I live on this app now, and I've never been more organized. Be sure to give this one a try. It is definitely a king's prize for a pauper's price.

The Expendables Game

When I first downloaded this game, I was pretty excited. It looked like it would be a good shooter. I was in fact, mislead in my initial excitement and soon came to find that although it was an amusing game, there were no real stellar features that made this game seem any more than mediocre.

The graphics are good, and are really the best part of the game. The controls are not very well done and there is no way to calibrate the device. Hitting an enemy at times seemed impossible which made for a few epic frustration meltdowns. The game is a good short-play pass time, but really doesn't cut it as a come to game time after time

Park'n Find

Park'n Find uses all of the tools that the iPhone has to offer to mark a park car and get the user back to it. Along with marking the GPS location, the user can take a picture, record voice notes, include a written description, and enter the aisle and stall numbers. This app is for people that seriously cannot remember where they parked and need to get back fast. Multiple car locations can be saved with this app instead of just one allowing for easier use while on trips or other situations. When finding the car there is a map that zooms in as the user gets closer to the location and iPhone 3GS users get a compass pointing them to their car's location. Also, Park'n Find has push notifications for parking meters so users can keep track of how long they have left on their meter.

The Essay Simulator

The point of this app is to get examples of different scenarios for essay questions found on a bar exam. The question is posed to the user and they have the chance to write a response. An example response is included that can be used as a guideline for how the question should be answered. I found that, for the sake of not having to type such full and text intensive answers on a touchscreen device, that this app perhaps would be a better tool for studying up and comparing answers with the examples. A great guide for those aspiring to pass the bar exam.

This is an entertaining game that is fast paced and frantic. There is only one mode of play in this game and it lacks any element of achievement (levels, bonuses, etc.) aside from global leader boards. This lack of depth makes for a game that eventually becomes overly repetitive.

My Sports Picks

If you consistently bet on sports games, this app could be a useful investment. The app works well and looks good. It's easy to enter in bets and keep track of total earnings and losses.

Offline mode didn't seem to work, which could be a downside for any iPod Touch users. Some of the betting terms in this app may not be understood by beginners. If you want to spend the time to learn what these terms mean, then this app can be of use. If not, maybe it would be best to find a more simple app. There are no explanations contained in the app to help beginners learn what these terms mean.

If you plan to use this app for any sport other than MLB, then you'll have to be willing to pay for it. Other sports are available at a cost of $2.99 a piece.

DiaCarta seems to be an attempt at a visual organizer. The app is very well made and is graphically beautiful. I didn't feel as if I personally got a lot of the app because I could never quite remember what all those visual cues were supposed to mean.
